We’re almost at the November 7th, 2017 release date for Sonic Forces. And we’ll finally discover if it measures up to Sonic Mania. Or indeed, the original Sonic the Hedgehog titles. When you’re announced as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations for the Sega mascot, you have plenty of live up to. In the meantime, check our these new Sonic Forces Videos, including battling the new boss, named Infinite.
It turns out Infinite is pretty powerful, with swift hover attacks, the ability to shoot swarms of red cubes to damage players, and also creating tricky obstacles. Still, it’s better than a boss battle that goes on infinitely.
If that short glimpse wasn’t enough, Sega has also provided more examples of the other characters with their new Wispon abilities. And details of some of the other Sonic Forces features.
So there’s the new free “Rental Avatar” feature, which allows you to access Hero Characters created by other players around the world. So you can swap at any point in the level to using another character and their Wispons. That adds to the customisation available between your creation and your rental character. And also means you can use 2 different Wispons in a single level. Which means you might be able to find secret paths and overcome obstacles more easily.
The wait is almost over for Sonic Forces, which combines a modern and classic interpretation of the videogame legend and accompanying characters. And you can pre-order it still for the PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
